In the first quarter of 2024, Latin America's Film & Television app landscape has seen varied performances across the board, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at the top five apps in this category.

Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies kicked off its release with a surge, boasting downloads that peaked at nearly 5M in its first full week. Downloads then trended downwards to about 2.7M by the end of March. Revenue for the app followed a similar trajectory, starting at $1.3M and slightly declining to $1.35M. Weekly active users showed robust growth, from 3.8M at the end of February to nearly 9.9M by the quarter's close.

Netflix, a seasoned player, showed a downward trend in downloads from 1.1M at the start of January to 871K by the end of March. Revenue remained fairly stable, fluctuating around the $100K mark. Active users experienced a slight drop from 52.6M to 48M over the quarter.

ViX: TV, Fútbol y Noticias displayed a significant downloads peak in mid-February at 1.35M, which then declined to 557K by the quarter's end. Revenue showed a slight decrease from $502K in early January to $351K in late March. Active users remained relatively steady, with a slight dip from 7.5M to 6.5M.

Pluto TV: Watch & Stream Live, with its revenue data not applicable, had downloads decreasing from 776K in the first week of January to 536K in the last week of March. Weekly active users showed a decline from 3.5M to 2.8M over the same period.

Lastly, Star+ saw its downloads vary, with a high of 735K in the last week of March, compared to the start of the quarter with 543K. Revenue experienced some fluctuations, peaking at $678K towards the end of February, and ending the quarter at $665K. Active users showed a healthy increase from 9.8M to 10.6M.
